Gargle

The A/C wasnt working today in the resturaunt. Now, there isnt an A/C in the kitchen, but still the ventilation system(hoods) does pull some air fromthe dinning area where the A/C is in full swing. It was made very clear tonight the difference that air makes. The temperatre on the line tonight was 120 or higher I can't remeber, on top of that it was fairly busy.

So I dont want to hear people complaining about the heat.

Then again, it's these working conditions that help me keep my girlish figure :)

Work Review

Well I had my 90-Day review at work this past weekend. It went well, my boss had to do ten reviews that day, which is much more than half the amount of kitchen staff, icluding the existing Line Supervisor that I have mentioned here before, that we have. Out of those ten I scored the highest score, a 39 out of 40. so along with the great review I was given a dollar raise.

So thats good, and a promotion next week to boot. Hopefully this time it goes through as planned.

Its hot again. But its not as humid as it was two weeks ago so that helps a bit. On Tuesday I will be living in Honeyoeyeyey Falls unti July 4th. House sitting, with central air and laundry. Hmmm this is going to be rough. Oh yeah a grill too! The funny part is that I may actually pack up my computer and take it with me. Is that bad?

Willy's Computer and my forthcomming Anyurism

I spent nearly 5 hours today working on Willy's computers. Yes, computers as in the pural sense of the word. He has two, on that Tim gave to him a few years ago, its a PII 300, and one his Mother gave to him a little while ago, its a PII466 Celeron. So I'm hoping between the two of them I can get Willy one machine that will work. So fars its going good, I got both machines working, networked and on the internet. Now I kida want to keep a box in the living room for music. So now I want to keep a minimally operation box in there, while a box for WIlly's room so he can play games with Tim and I.
I hope to finish this task tomorrow, I just need to ealuate the hardware, mostly the graphics cards and the RAM too see how I should configure each machine and if I can actually do it right so I can have both running and work fairly decently enough to run Winamp and AIM. Its so funny to work with these machines. I remeber my first computer, it was a PI 133. I thought it was blazing. After that computer I built my first computer and it was a PII400. I was so impressed by it, playing Quake 3 on the internet with RoadRunner when it first came out. Now I'm running a nearly 2GigaHertz processor. Thats nearly 400% faster than my older machine. Its amazing to think about whatI used to think was so hot and amazing. Makes me wonder what I'll be using in a year or so. Maybe I'll have like 4 monitors hooked up to one box, wouldnt that be cool?

Dreams...

Okay I'm about to goto work, then this song pops on my computer from the playlist I made for myself last night(this morning) for bedtime. All of a sudden I remember a part of my dream where I was kinda singing the song. Its the song 'Common People' with William Shatner and Joe Jackson, which is a remake of the song by a band called 'Pulp'. This triggered a thinking tinkering in my head, somewhere between my ears.

There are, if I recall correctly from my Phsychology class, two main different theories on dreams. The first is that dreams are random synapses in the brain, little electrical ticks going off randomly creating the expereince of a dream. The second is that its from a deeper subconscience type of thing and that the dreams can be related to your life.

I dont particualry beleive either one, I can;t let myself beleive dreams are random. In most dreams, you will see faces of people you know, her music that you are listening too, and there is always DeShaVuuu. Hows that for spelling. There is also all those mystical books that say they can interperpret dreams. I dont beleive in that whatsoever. If you see a whale flying, it means something blah blah. No thanks.

So what do you people think about dreams, do they mean something or are they more similar to a random process. I think if I had to pick I would say random synapses in the subconscience. Which would explain a dreams irrational storyline, but would exlain familiarness with objects and people in them.

This one time I could fly in my dream. And another time I did a backflip in the Jeep. Thats was fun!

Charlie says he dreams of running after kitty treats.

Hmmmm.....

Let see.

I talked to Mom today and she sounds well. Although she is unable to really use her left arm at the moment until the muscles(who knew girls had those!) heal back up a bit. From now she will ahve to get a check up every 6 months, depending on the pending results onthe biopsy. But everything looks to have gone as smoothly and as well as planned, so thats very good.

Last night Sean came over had had a few beers with Willy and I. It was fun, he and I have a great time laughing at Willy, at his expense. Always a good time had by all, or at least Sean and I. Ask Willy about the new haircut-persons reality show, or abou this HighSchool Prom dress, and you will see how entertaining it is.

In work news, I was told and anticipated my promotion to Line Supervisor to come tomorrow(Saturday). Well it appears as if its been pushed back a bit longer, now its by the end of the month. On the other hand, the General Manager of the resturaunt talked to me for nearly an hour, yea he likes to re-itterate himslef frequently, about my preformance and the expectations of the Line Supervisor role. He said Ive been doing a fantastically great job at miraculously exteeding my job requirments and expectations. Okay he may not have said exactly that, but he did go one for about 30 minutes saying how good I was doing, and what an integral part of the line I have become. He also mentioned that the line there now, the crew, is the best it has ever been in the history of the resturaunt itself. Thats cool. He ended by saying that he will have me promoted by the end of the month. To be honest that really ticked me off a bit. I have written previously here about how I feel about the existing Line Supervisor and how I feel I exeed his work ethic, and have obtained the respect and support from my co-workers much more than he has. On the other hand I have appreciate that he took the time to make sure that I know that he appreciates my efforts, and that I will be promoted and recognized for them. I also re-iterated that my intention is to keep learning, to be ina position to become the Kitchen Manager when the third Bazils is opened up in unsaid amount of time. He concurred and said he would do that for me.

It rained again today. But its nice and cool, and much easier to sleep in this weather as compared to the overly humid and hot temperatures of last weekend.

Charlie says: " Yo, what up Dawg"

-no really, but wouldn't it be funny if he did?

-today has been brought to you be the mispelled word "miraculously" which is funny becuase I just looked it up and I selled it correctly. You get of easy tody Mom, I spelld it corectly!

Been a while....

Well I'm sorry I seem to have been neglecting my blog recently.

Well today is very cool, like in the 60's cool. Which is very nice change from the past week. I've felt so lazy recently because it seems all my energy is drained from work. The temperatures and the humidty made work very interesting. After a night at work I could ring the sweat out of my shirt if I so desired. So it's been raining for the past two days nearly, and I'm enjoying it :).

I've gotten into the habit of watching the new TV show 'Hells Kitchen;. Its on the FOX network at Nine o'Clock on Mondays. The outline of the show is, that they have twelve people, down to eight now, that are getting a chance to win their own resturaunt through this reality series where this Chef named Ramsey is putting them through hell, so to speak. I have no idea where they found this bunch of people for the show, most of them shouldnt even be there if you ask me. I'm sitting here watching it and just pulling my hair out and what some o the people are doing and saying, 'damn I would rock that'.

My Mom is at the Doctors now, so I'm going to do laundry and hopefully be back in time to catch her to see how the surgery went. Kelly couldnt sleep well last night. Mom was diagnosed with Melanoma(sp) and is getting the surgery to remove 99% of it. They would say 100% but they have to cover there asses. It was kinda weird to ehar about this with my Mom , My parents are so healthy and good that I never would imagine soething like this. Heck, I can't remeber either of them getting a little cold.

Let see, what else. Charlie is one year old now as of two weeks ago. Woo hooo. He has a vertical jump that would blow your mind. Hes gotten to the top of my wardrobe, and to the top of the entertainment unit in the living room. It's amazing, hes been eating his wheaties!
