Home Sweet Home.

Well I'm back from my Thanksgiving vacation trip. It was great, spend early four whole days with my family.

I flew out on Tuesday, Mom was at the terminal to meet me, from there we went home and I ahd a sandwich, I was hungry! Then we met up with Dad and Kelly to grab a bite to eat at the Sweet Water Grill. I had a Filet Migon merdium rare! YUM YUM. Kelly had a cheeseburger, shees. After dinner I left with Kelly to her apartment to realize that her comptuer was in shambles. So I began working on her comptuer, after a bit we left to meet her two good friends Mike and Kellie. That was fun, her friends seem really nice and have a good sense of humor. About 11:30 we left back for Kellys apartment and I was up till 1:30 working on Kellys computer, it should be better now. NOTE: Computers need to be maitaned people, they dont just sit there!!!!

Wednesday Kelly and I took the metro and met Mom and Dad at the Smithsonian. That was cool, I hadnt been to a Museum in a long long time, we went to the Air and Space Museum first and saw the 3-D IMAX of the space station. Then we visited the Natural history and American History museums. After we walked to the white house and Lafeyette Park. The architecture of the area is awesome.

Thursday we all cooked together and made a great Turkey dinner, minus a squash recipe I brought and Dad made that did not turn out too good. Bummer. We played Monopoly together, the girl quickly tried to work together, which y the way you are not allowed to do in Monopoly. TSK TSK.

Friday was a nice morning, Mom Dad and I walked around town a bit saw some neat restuarnts. A really neat town/city they live in. Tons of resturants.

Alright I'm going to post a couple pictures from the trip now. Take care!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well as many of you know I get to goto Maryland for the next four days to see my Family. I cant wait. Four days of not working and hanging out with my best buds.

Not a whole lot has been going on with me lately, just more of the same, work work and ummm sleep. Kelly was really sick this past week which stunk. When she gets stick, she gets reallllly sick. Wussy girl. But she was able to get Thanksgiving off from work so thats great, now all four of us can hang out and cook and what-not on Turkey Day.

Looks like I'll be spending a night at her place meeting some of her friends. Should be fun.

What about other than work?

I've been lucky enough to have my parents in town for a day or so. No really. I was having a terrible start to a work day. Walking onto a station that is not stocked and ready for a busy night when you are already on an hour wait. There are things that really piss me off and not being ready to rock is one of them. My parents and my Uncle George and Aunt Maragette were there and that made things better. Being that

I work in an open kitchen I had a little fun knowing they were watching, made the flames fly and made the the empty saute pan smoke showing off the heat that I work with everyday. I make a point to try to make people appreciate what we fo for them because I hate people who take a meal out, and not realize the the stress, heat and work that goes into it.

I'm serious see at home how long it takes to make an empty saute pan smoke.... its damn hot people, no TOUCHIE.(dont really try this at home or you will hurt yourself, dont use water to cool down the pan cause it jumps out and you will hurt you or your over curious pet) I use a towel to handle a pan, I burn holes in them throughout the night and have to get new ones often on a busy night, and I am not exaggerating.

The point of that story is that is was a busy night, I didnt not have my mise en place ready to rock and I was is a bad bood. But it was nice and ut a grin on my face to face family there to try to show off for, show them what I go through, make them see what I do on a daily baisis. Few people reconize the stress and energy that it takes to be a line cook/chef, and that is why I love the open kitchen.
I feel that it gives the normal consumer an idea of what amount of energy and stress that goes into there little happy fricken meal. Theres a reason me make what we do and theres a reason that we drink afterward the amount that we do.

Its called a vice, everyone has one. My parents have there home projects, I have my bar. Sad, true, but I'm not hiding it and I'm not regretting it. You have to wind down and I dont want to wind down staring at my computer, if I tried, I would be up all night.

The point of this post, that my parent made clear to me today, is that I dont have anything other than work to talk about. I work, I go out drinking with my Bahama Breeze Buds and thats it. I'm a single male, and what I do is work, and drink with people I work with. There suble(blunt to me, but I appreciate there suble-ness) was that I most definataley(and I agree) need somewhere else to be with and meet people other than work.

My Father has made his work his life, he takes it seriously as I do mine. The differnece is that he has a Wife and a home to work on together. I guess you can call that vice for him. My vice is a drink with friends and cigarettes. Cigarettes bad, yes duh. The other thats debatable, maybe I dont want to go home and just watch TV and play games alone.

Oops Its called Garden State

The movie that I spoke so highly of last night is actually called Garden State. Even though the name has changed from last night, some how the movie is just as good, and I still recommend it just as much. Kinda funny huh? or not.

Well winter is defiantley comming pretty soon this year, it has been quite windy and cold the past week. I can't say I'm looking forward to it that much. In fact I think its safe to say that I'm not at all looking forward to it. With the job switching since may I dont think I really got to enjoy summer that much except for the week I spent with my family in Lake George. At least I have one week a year that I can always count on.

Thankfully I get to spend Thanksgiving with my parents in Maryland. I'm really looking forward to spend a couple days with them cooking and such. Last year Kelly and I drove to Connecticut and that was really nice too. To me Thanksgiving has become more of a family holiday for me than Christmas. Christmas you have all teh gifts and relatives and hoop-lah. Thanksgiving you ahve good food and family. I love it, and I think I look forward to it much more than Christmas.

On that note I ahve started my first drafts of my Christams lists. Yes thats plural on Christmas Lists. Dont ask why, just nod. Oh, and a blow torch is on 3 out of 7 lists :)

Golden State, Rings, Kelly, Halloween

Well I am long overdue for a posting here on this there blog thingy do-hickey.

Kelly was in town all last week. It was plenty of fun being able to see her and spend some time with her. Last Wedensday we went to Otter lodge with Willy. Some new friends of hers showed up, a coule of guys. So I beat them up. Willy, Kelly, the two guys, and I played darts for most of the night whatching Boston win some sort of baseball game. It was apparently a big deal because some lady was getting awful emotional in an awfully loud sort fo way that just made me want to erase her from the picture entirely. I tried, but the eraser on my pencil just couldnt get the job done.
Kelly and I were also able to attend Chris and Terrie's Halloween party. That was alot of fun. I forgot to bring my camera which I'm still kicking myself for. I have bruises. Our Aunt Margerette and Uncle Sichak were dressed up as a hippie pair Jupiter and Moon Dust. It was great.

I meant to write a post about this earlier. Seans DeChalais proposed to Christine Latone this past week. She said yes, there is no conformation on drugs used during this porposition, the tests are still out, we are waiting on Ohio to count their provisionals. Its safe to say I'm very happy for them. CONGRATS!

I just finished watching the movie Golden State with Zach Braff from Scrubs. Very good movie I rate it as a must-see two thumbs up five out of five blah blah blah movie. It is notable becasue Zach Braff write and directed the movie, which I think is a great way to un-typecast him from the scrubs TV show, it showcases his talent in the industry very well in my opinion.
