My Dad was in town today, so we were able to meet up and have some lunch. Afterwhich we headed over to Shoen Place and walked around a bit. It was a very nice day for a stroll.

On another note, I went to my first wine tasting today. It was alot of fun, I have some notes on what I liked and such, but unfortunately I stopped by a liquor store on the way home to try to find some of the wines I tasted and liked, and couldn't find one. I'll need to head out to MArketview Liquor I think, that store is huge.

My First Day

Well I've just finished my first day at work as a front of the house(FOH) manager. It was pretty interesting, I'm really going to enjoy learning this howle new side to the business. I had to go talk to tables and soo how there meal was going and such, luckily I didn't get any complaints today.

When I got dressed today in my new get-up I was pretty nervous. I was going to work in front of complete strangers wearing something I feal totally uncomfortable wearing. Real pants, shirt and tie. I have been working in Chef clothes for the past nearly 9 years now, I was pacing back and forth checking my tie and stuff for about 45 minutes.

But I did find a cool website to help me with my tie. Tie a Tie!, I'm going to try a full windsor tomorrow, evidently it would more better fit my skinny neck and face better.... I dunno, I'll see tomorrow. I just thought this page was kinda neat to find this morning...after I tied my tie.

My Promotion

Starting Monday I will be the new Assistant General Manager of Bazil's! I'm very excited about this. I'm on salary now with a bonus program and eerything. No more chef coats either, I won't be cooking at all, that is going to be a big change for me. Tommorrow morning I going to buy some new clothes since all that I've ben wearing for the past decade has been chef pants, coats and shoes. This is going to be fun!
