Catching up..... this my be a long one.

Well well well, I really havent been here in a bit. Two weeks ago or so I tried to post, but I was experiencing some problems with blogger. I have a feeling its getting a little big on the servers.

Lets see whats been going on since my last post.... hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, good movie, oh wait I already covered that.

Mothers Day... whaoooo nelly. That was a long day. I went into work at 10am, I got out of there about 11pm I think, I'm not really sure. Mothers Day was very busy as to be expected. The nicest part of the day, that really makes this resturaunt stand apart from many mant others though is what we did after we closed. Everyone took care of there closing duties, cleaning and whatnot. Then we all ast down and had a family meal of sorts, we madea big dish of pasta for everyone to share and some chicken parms. Alogn with that the managers brought out pitchers of beer and a handful of bottles of wine. We all hung out eating and drinking for nearly 2 hours together. Doing things like that for your employees really shows a alot of respect and appreciation for the work that they/we do, and I really appreciate that they do that for us. Thats the first time that they ahve done that for us since I ahve been there, but thats also one of the busiest days fo the year for many resturaunts.

As a side note I think its only right to show what a terrible son I am and mention that my mothers day card, that I spend 30 minutes to pick out(its pretty funny). Is on my desk still. I should be shot, hopefully with a gun with one of those silencers, Willy is sleeping and I wouldnt want to wake him up.

Work in general is going well. Although at times I get fustrated, and I will try to explain it here and not go on and on and on and ... on.
So myself and one other guy was hired to Bazil's to become supervisers of the line. So I have been doing a fantastic job(if I say so myself) proving I can fullfill that role and more. And I ahve done that. But unfortunately the other guy has been with the company for three years and so he got it simply because of senoirity, which makes me want to say all sorts of not-so-lovely colorful words in weird arrangments. The good thing about this, is that I have heard from everyone that I work with that they feel I earned the promortion much more that he has. Further more, that they enjoy working for me as opposed to the other guy. Which makes me feel pretty nice.
This other guy, he doesnt do such a good job, he doesnt lead by example and do a perfect-like job. He is more than willing to delegate extra jobs, like cleaning tasks and such to others, and not do them himself. People notice these things. Poeple aslo notice that I do alot of extra cleaning myself as oposed to ask others to do it, so when I ask someone to do a little extra they will do it, because they know that I will do it myself if need be. Unfortunately for the other guy, I have gotten the respect and the likeness of our co-workers, while he hasn't. All I can do is keep doing what I'm doing, and whatch him prove himself incapable, which he does fairly often. Sometimes I feel bad for him to be going againts me, but he really should be doing a much better job.

Oh yeah I jsut remebered. Last wedensday I played poker for money for the second time. I didnt win this time. There was eight of us, and we each put ten bucks in the pot. It was alot of fun, I lasted about 2.5 hours in the game. I came in fourth I think. I was pretty pleased with myself. I dont play often at all, its not something I want to make a regular habit, but when I think about it, when I hang out at a bar with friends I'll go through more than that in less time. I think my favorite thing about the game of texas hold'em, is that rarely do you ever see what the other guys is holding, one person ends up folding, then the cars are shuffled, you realyl never flip your cards over. You just have to find a way to make people think you have a good hand when you stay in the game. Interesting stuff.

When I came home tonight Charlie was in the kitchen window lookig out and meowing at me. It was nice. Then Willy said that he does it to anyone that walks by, I think hes lying and that Charlie missed me.

I'm happy that you found a place that makes you feel good about working there, and that seems to recognize your talents!

And I'm sure that Charlie meows at you louder then at any strangers walking by. "Daddy's home!"

Charlie doesn't "meow" at me. As a matter of fact, nobody "meows" at me. Such is life.

Sean - MEOW!

K - sounds like you have been keeping busy. Work seems to be agreeing with you. Hang in there, it will be your day soon. Just keep up the good work, it seems to be suiting you. As for Charlie, Willy is just jealous that he doesn't whistle at him!
