Ahhh Friends
Now that I'm at my personal weekend from work, I get to write about the past weekend. Happy be-lated halloween. I ahve to say that this ast weekend was a good time. I spent a good amount of time with all of my friends from work and my good friends from outside of work.
Friday I met out with Sean, Chris, and Willy for beers at Snuffies and had to shuffle in some friends that may or may not have been allowed in. Being that they were females it didnt really take much, oh surprise. Hung out there for a bit, chatted with lisa a bit, that was nice, got to trash talk Macs a bit, which seems to be something I've always enjoyed since my adolences years. Scary monkey mask aside.
Saturday, haloween night, the actual celebrations of haloween on folded. Good times, I stoped by otter as usual, but I foud myself leaving pretty quickly. Way to crowded. So I bounced out to a work party for the rest of the evening. It was more fun seeing eople you work with acting like fools and dressed up as pimps and whatnot, and trying not to get stuck to the kitchen floor where the kegs were. I was a ninja this year. I dressed up for the first time in years as something other than a cook :)
I think it is more than neccesary to back up to Friday.
Friday when things started to come to a close at work, I called up Sean:
Me: Hey Sean, whats up?
Sean: Hey not much just drinking wine after a seven course meal, what are you up to?
Me: Workin.
Sean: Yea.. we are at this amazing place you should stop by.
Me: Oh..... yea.. maybe if I get out soon
Sean: Well give me a call when your getting out.
Me: ok talk to you soon.
Okay so after this short conversation, I figured I would be meeting them at the bar as per usual. So when I was all set with work and ready to head out I called up Sean again...
Me: Hey buddy
Sean: Hey!
Me: What are you guys doin?
Sean: We are still here you shoudl stop by, they are looking for a cook, its a really really nice place.
Me: Oh really?
Sean: yea potash knows the chef, you should stop by and talk to him.
Me: Are you
Sean: No man, stop by
Me: okay I'll be there in about 20 minutes
Sean: ok I'll step outside and look for ya
So I drive my butt down to this supposed eatery, have the best glass of wine I've ever had. Some kind of 30 yr old tawny port. Great stuff, I've never enjoyed a wine-like drink like that ever before, I'll never forget it.
After a bit, Sean showed me the atrium. Yea an atrium in the building between the two sections of the resturuant. Then a got to chat with the Chef a bit. I say a bit because soon Chef and Potash were in a conversation of there own. The Chef gave me a menu and his number and said they were looking for a pastry chef and a night chef. So I do my look over the menu and ask bluntly 'what do you start at for pay?' He asnwers failry quickly in a not thinking about it manor '20- 25 and hour' So I do what I can to look abck at the menu and not show any expression. But I can see out of my eyes that Willy and Sean were rolling their tougnes back in there mouths. I was shocked.
So, I'm going to meet with this Eric Mueller, Chef of Max of Eastman Place tomorrow, hopefully unless something goes dreadfully wrong, which I hope not. This is a big oppourtunity, the food on thei menu is nice, and they change there menu monthly.
This is there webpage here. Check it out, you'll see my I'm pissing myself.
So back to the point of the post. I had a great weekend, spent with my friends.

Wow! Make sure you look your best. That is a really neat opportunity!! Good luck and let me know how it goes.
Good luck! It sounds like a really nice place -- good looking menu!
I am sure you will make a great impression.
How did Sean get into the place?
I'm pretty sure Sean got in, since Christine was able to get in. Kind of a baggage deal, with Christine comes the short guy....
Amazing food... Amazing wine!!! Glad you enjoyed it. Good luck!
